Rwanda Kicks Off PISA 2025 Awareness Campaign to Prepare for Global Assessment

The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness among all stakeholders in the education sector, including students, teachers, parents, and school leaders, about the upcoming international assessment, which will be conducted in Rwanda from April 27 to June 7, 2025. The focus will be on promoting the PISA assessment, its importance in providing a snapshot of the country's education system, and its role in comparing the knowledge levels of Rwandan students with those in other countries.

The official launch of the awareness campaign will take place at ES KANOMBE/EFOTEC school on Monday, March 17, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM (14:00).

The PISA assessment aims to evaluate students' ability to apply their knowledge in real-life situations, focusing on their critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and overall competence.

PISA is an international assessment involving over 80 countries, officially launched by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 1997. It began in 2000, testing 15-year-old students on reading, mathematics, and science. PISA assessments are conducted every three years, and this will be Rwanda’s first time participating in the assessment.
