From 2012 GLF Rwanda have reached more than 8000 girls in 20 Universities; Higher Learning institutions and High schools countrywide.

GLF Rwanda is planning to meet 800 girls in Adolescent Girls Movement in Muhanga, Musanze, Huye and City of Kigali.

Many of the girls who attended said the Girls Leaders Forum Rwanda has empowered them to believe in themselves and inspired them to become the great leaders of tomorrow.

Lewis Ukunzwenayo, a student at G.S. Mata in Muhanga District, shared that the lessons she has received through the Girls Leaders Forum have helped her build self-confidence and leadership skills.

 “I’ve learned to believe that I can lead others,” she said proudly, adding that she now serves as the academic affairs leader at her school.

Gloria Nshutinziza, a student at Mount Kigali University, emphasized that the Forum helped her understand that true leadership begins with self-leadership.

 “Today, we were reminded of the core values that should define a young woman who aspires to be a good leader. We also learned the importance of self-awareness and resilience as young women,” she said.

Christine Uwamariya, an advisor at the Girls Leaders Forum, praised the initiative, noting that the lessons provided to young women have helped reduce unplanned pregnancies among university students. She added that these training sessions have now been extended to secondary schools to help prepare girls early to become focused and goal-oriented leaders.

Dar Dalree De Lange, Senior Program Officer at the Graça Machel Trust in South Africa, commended the leadership of Girls Leaders Forum Rwanda, stressing the importance of supporting girls who face various challenges that often hinder them from achieving their dreams.

Rosette Nkundimfura, the Founder and Executive Director of Girls Leaders Forum Rwanda, highlighted the positive impact of their programs, revealing that among the over 500 members of the Forum, not a single girl has experienced an unplanned pregnancy.

Girls Leaders Forum Rwanda Founded in 2012,  is a local non-governmental organization that brings together girls’ leaders from universities and higher learning institutions across Rwanda, empowering them with the skills, confidence, and values needed to become the next generation of transformative leaders.
